What Was Coal Scrip? A Book, Some History & a Ramble ~ ASMR

Today I’m looking through Script, a book about the coal mines of Harlan County, Kentucky, featuring pictures of the different script used by the various mines.
I’ll flip through the pages, talk a little about what script was and how it worked, and ramble about coal mining history, labor unions, and the political changes in Appalachia over the years.
Just a simple, soft-spoken look through a book, with some history, opinions, and unintentional ASMR along the way.
