Do you have PTSD? Doctor explains - in ASMR (with nightmare therapy you can do yourself)

ASMR by the Real Doctor Rogue
Publicado hace 3 años

You and a real physician go over PTSD diagnostic criteria, then some treatment options you can ask your therapist about, and some self care things you can do for yourself if you suffer nightmares or trauma. We do it all in ASMR style: triggers include personal attention, tapping, medical facts, flipping pages, whispering (soft speaking at first), and more.

Resources include the DSM V, the Intro to Psychiatry book by Black, a few studies cited in the video, and personal experience as a military physician.

Some people listen to ASMR for stress. If you need emotional therapy, and don't have a physical place to get it, please visit betterhelp.com/doctorjen for an online option. I was really excited to affiliate with them, and my special link will get you 10 percent off teletherapy. I cannot recommend any particular therapist or write an insurance referral to them, but I am glad they exist.

***To follow my tragic adventures as I demonstrate how the American medical training system is BUILT to create a shortage of doctors who care, please listen to my show on the Emergency Escape Podcast Network: https://emergencyexit.podbean.com/?s=Death+and+the+doctor

There, you’ll hear about the deaths that convinced me we’re doing it wrong; my dream to take modern medicine to those who can’t afford it; and ultimately the reason I left the American residency system.

***Jen Finelli is a world-traveling scifi author who's gone swimming with sharks, escaped being locked in a German nunnery, discovered murals and poetry in underground urban caves, explored jungles and coral deserts, and hung out with everyone from dead people and prostitutes to secret political influencers and Senators. She is coping with life as an MD by telling you stories, and when she grows up she’ll be a superhero.

Jen is not your therapist. If you need your own therapist, please go to your primary care physician and ask them to refer you. Ask for someone skilled in CBT. Alternatively, there are therapists you can talk to online affordably (betterhelp.com/doctorjen) While Jen is a real doctor, she is not YOUR doctor; nothing she says is official medical advice, diagnosis, or disease treatment, because she has not physically examined or spoken with YOU. You have the power to fact-check. Her medical license is publicly searchable under the state of Virginia medical boards at 0101265916.
