月= moon. When you want to say moon, use this kanji and pronounce it "tsuki".
食べる (pronounced TABERU) is the verb for "to eat". When it is used as just part of another kanji it's usually pronounced SHOKU, sometimes it's pronounced JIKI but that's not as common. An example of that: 乞食 KOJIKI = beggar.
月 and 食 together are pronounced "gesshoku".
