She once lived near my salon. Even after moving over an hour away, she continues to return for digital setting perms and root color. I am grateful for every journey she makes.
Today, she received both services. This video focuses on refreshing her roots with gray coverage and a soft, brighter tone to complement her curls.
My Own Formula Language
I look at gray distribution and natural depth in each area. For this client, I adjust two or three color formulations to bring the front and back into one harmonious tone.
Pro Tip for Hairstylists
For brighter gray coverage like this, my application moves from the back toward the front. For coverage-focused services, I may begin where the gray is most concentrated. I choose the order and shades for the individual hair, within the manufacturer's directions.
A stylist's work is to keep thinking, noticing and refining. I want her to leave feeling cared for, with a color she enjoys and a journey that feels worthwhile.
