🤍 What is ASMR?
ASMR, or autonomous sensory meridian response, is a calming, pleasurable feeling often described as a gentle tingling that starts at the scalp and moves down the neck or spine. It’s usually triggered by soft, repetitive sounds or soothing visuals, and can promote deep relaxation or even help with sleep.
Everyone experiences ASMR differently — common triggers include whispering, tapping, brushing, and everyday tasks like roleplays or ambient sounds. Find what soothes you most and let yourself unwind.
From an online questionnaire in 2015 (Barratt and Davis), we learned that men and women would use ASMR videos for relaxation and calming purposes, such as for aiding stress (82%) and insomnia (98%). 🤍
