Today we work on one of the most intense massages I have filmed in a while. I traveled to Lucca to meet Wioletta Kowalska. She is an Italian massage champion originally from Poland, and at the 2026 Italian Massage and Manual Therapy Championship, she earned the title of Overall Winner in Manual Therapy, along with a gold medal in the Deep Tissue & Sports Massage category and a special award in Innovation.
In this video, I meet her to try a unique treatment called Sarga Bodywork. This is a highly specialized, modern approach to deep tissue and myofascial release that looks and feels entirely different from traditional therapy.
What It Is
Sarga Bodywork is a barefoot massage method where the practitioner stands on the table and uses a suspended fabric strap fastened to the table. The practitioner pulls upward on this strap while applying downward, gravity-assisted pressure into the client's body using their bare feet.
