This is the final video in this video therapy course for Depression.
In this video I am going to explain what the next steps are. If you have not noticed much improvement in your mood or the speed of your improvement has been slower than you had hoped I will explain why this is and what you can do about it.
The factors that make us vulnerable to developing Depression and that maintain it, can be complex and so you may well need some professional support in order to make further and long lasting changes. However, a good starting point is this self-help book, easy to read and incredibly helpful:

In the meantime, it is really important to keep practicing the techniques outlined in this course. Especially if you have been struggling with Depression for some time and your symptoms are reasonably strong, it will take a number of months of consistently practicing the strategies before you will notice significant changes. Remember, slow and steady wins the race.
You can of course always contact The British CBT & Counselling Service for help with what to do next. The Clinical Support Team are trained and ready to help you with all your questions and worries.

** MORE ABOUT ME **
I am the Lead Clinical Psychologist at The British CBT & Counselling Service and find that I am often the first person with whom my patients share significant and intimate thoughts and memories. I feel at ease being a therapist, I feel I can empathise with people’s distress and discomfort but don’t feel overwhelmed by it, I can understand their problem and know how to help, it has always just felt like what I should be doing.
