Why is it that robotic, animated and other almost human faces sometimes make us feel extremely uncomfortable? This is a strange phenomenon known as the uncanny valley. It's a hypothesis that was originally proposed by a roboticist in 1970, and the idea has been extended through multiple industries and art forms.
You may know that I am a visual effects artist, and that I've worked in the industry since 2023. In this video, I'll not only whisper and learn with you about the uncanny valley, but I'll also tell you about my experiences creating 3D models and noticing common pitfalls novice animators make that can elicit the uncanny valley effect in the viewer.
Thank you very much for watching and spending time with me. I hope that you enjoy the video.
With love,
Harry

What is ASMR?
Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) is a pleasant physical sensation that can be triggered by various stimuli. ASMR videos, therefore, focus on creating an environment conducive to helping you experience ASMR.
ASMR is a unique and scientifically established feeling that some people experience. It is often described as a tingling sensation on the skin of the scalp and back of the neck, and is usually accompanied by an increased sense of relaxation, sleepiness, or focus. ASMR videos are used in many ways, commonly as study aids, sleep aids, and comfort for anxiety.
