The Card Trader #3 - 1980's Garbage Pail Kids | ASMR

You have a secret meeting with The Card Trader who is trading in 1980's Garbage Pail Kids. This is a soft-spoken version just to change things up from all the whispering that I do.

The soft card tapping sounds were supposed to be a little more audible, but they didn't turn out well due to poor mic positioning, so my apologies if you enjoy those sounds. I still plan on featuring other card types, so please be patient if you are waiting for a certain kind.

I had no idea there was a Walter Melon GPK card before I did a particular video involving a particular melon that shares that particular name. Apparently GPK beat me to that pun because I don't ever remember owning that card (unless I did, and it's subconsciously been in my mind ever since, though I doubt it). And yes, I did buy my share of GPK cards as a teen in the 80's but shame I never kept them. As a matter of fact, we never kept anything from back then because we simply had no idea about the value of collecting. The GPK cards that appear in this video were from a cheap (due to poor condition of the cards) lot on a particular auction website.

What is ASMR?

ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It's a non-scientific word that an everyday person came up with to describe the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering, personal attention or watching someone perform a task. It's like goosebumps but much more pleasant and without the uncomfortable chills.

ASMR videos are meant to intentionally induce this sensation in the viewer, often referred to as "tingles", but the videos also serve to provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer. Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect.
