I was moved by a comment in which a viewer shared how they had recently experienced the loss of a loved one. This alone was emotional, but I really admired how brave they were to share this – to put it out there – and so I wanted to respond to the comment by making a video that perhaps in some small way could help.
Initially, I was going to do a grief or loss counsellor roleplay but felt that there was a lot of room for error, and that I’m completely unqualified to tackle a very real subject in what would ostensibly be a ‘serious’ manner. It’s not quite the same as pretending to be a doctor or talking about earwax, right? So, I thought about what I actually was qualified for (not much haha), and figured that the best I could do was be a friend who simply shows up. Because, if you’re able, I think just showing up can make a huge difference.
So, this video isn’t necessarily a remedy for anything – and there are points where I’m quite inappropriate or very awkward… But that’s what friends are for, eh? That said, I hope it can help anyone dealing with loss, living with grief, or simply missing someone who isn’t there anymore. Because at least if we miss someone, we remember that they were here.
And if you are struggling, never be afraid to ask for help. Whether that’s from a friend, loved one, or a professional. Or even a comment on a youtube video. Because people will read it, they will empathise with you, and they will support you if they’re able. I hope you’re okay.
This video couldn’t have been made without the generous support of my Patreon Producers – thank you all so much:

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses – even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds – just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos – but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.
Disclaimer: This video is intended for relaxation. Any views, opinions, or advice expressed is purely for the purpose of entertainment, and to induce tingles through ASMR. These videos are not a substitute for traditional medicine, therapy, or any other professional medium, and should not be treated as such! Take all the advice with a pinch of salt, and certainly don’t take it to heart. That being said, please enjoy them, benefit from them, and hopefully get those warm, tingly feelings. Oh, and it’s not for kids.
