Ep. 17 Write-up:
Withdrawing to the entrance of the cave would not prove to be as easy as the heroes hoped, as vicious gricks would catch them wending their way back through the winding caverns. A night’s rest allowed the group to recover but the shadow of The Black Spider seemed to hang over their rest, a dread that clung to them through the night. There had been no more encounters with Sildar since he had struck down Troy and disappeared back into the cave, and Gundren had yet to arrive to meet them as he had said.

They resolved to uncover the secrets of Wave Echo Cave, discovering the collapsed entrance of the once grand dwarven settlement, as well as hordes of roving undead that seemed to lurk in much of the cave.

This culminated with the dark spirit of an ancient mage, who named himself Mormesk and demanded their lives as he rose from the ground with the spectre of Drat at his side. Mormesk was swiftly dispatched, but Drat’s fury was difficult to quell as he struck out at the party. Eyvanna and Troy plead with the fallen goblin to let up his assault and rejoin them, and once Daelin had constructed a magical container the sprit of Drat was inserted into Troy’s mechanical body. The goblins inhabiting the same body once again, rather than Drat fading away forever.

Daelin discovered a mysterious map that may lead the group to a treasure trove in the sword mountains.
