this video is obviously inspired by the one and only @MissManganese who thought of this incredible idea
also guys, i thought i'd give you a little bit of a life update. i moved to another country, so for the most part, i'm safe now. i'll still be going back to kyiv quite often, but my family and most of my friends are still there. and i do feel extremely homesick and guilty about being here when everybody else is still going through all of this.
ukraine is being attacked like never before. people are almost constantly living under air raid alerts and have simply gotten used to doing everyday things under constant shelling. their life is literal russian roulette.
the attacks have become more frequent and more intense than ever. kyiv takes around 40-60 strikes a day, which means every 15 minutes on average. they are targeting our food warehouses, leaving us with less and less food. supermarket shelves are already half-empty. it might sound funny compared to people dying around us every day, but my friends complain about not being able to find their favourite chocolate for weeks because the warehouses were destroyed. or about not being able to go to mcdonald's because it's been closed every time they tried because of another air raid alert. life is still going on, but it's becoming harder and harder to actually live it. even the smallest things that used to bring some joy are constantly being interrupted, and every time you go outside there are drones being shot down above your head. there are constant strikes on civilian areas, hospitals, schools, universities, kindergartens. just several hours ago, a drone hit the national academy of sciences in central kyiv, killing people and forcing others to jump through windows to escape the fire. a couple hours later another drone hit a medical center. all in the city center, in broad daylight.
meanwhile, in occupied oleshky, around 2,000 people (including children) are trapped without any food supplies, medicine, electricity, gas or a way to leave. bodies are literally left out in the open. if someone tries to approach them to bury them, they are immediately targeted by an fpv drone. if someone tries to approach even a piece of food that somehow ended up on the ground, they are immediately targeted by an fpv drone. imagine having to kill your dog to spare it from starvation.
these are people who are in critical condition and desperately need help, but they have no way out because the russians do not let them leave. and this is just one of many occupied cities where these atrocities have taken place and continue to take place.
it’s the holodomor in the 21st century, and the world is silently watching us die.
people are saying that they are tired of hearing about the war. but we don't have the luxury of just scrolling past it like you do. we don't need your pity. but we really need you to keep talking about ukraine, keep paying attention, and if you can, donate.
