Hello Everyone ! I was not able to make it into the office on this particular day-so I did a Role Play set up from home! With that being said, I do not own certain instruments to use in Role Plays (like a tenaculum, stirrups, medical table)-which is why it was not shown. I was also using an IUD model-not an actual IUD itself--remember-its just a role play-NOT A TUTORIAL:)
Please consult with your provider regarding what IUD may be best for you, and if you would be a good candidate for one.
Also very important to remember that everyone's experience with an IUD and the insertion process varies on many factors: consent, stress/anxiety/comfort level, pain control options. There are various pain management options with IUD inserts-however the research is very back and forth on whether such options aide in reducing the pain a patient may experience-or make the experience worse. With that being said, patients still have a right to know what pain control options they have, as well as be given an accurate representation of what each step entails.
Descriptive terms I have used in this video are terms patients have personally told me!
