Hey there lovely friends. I hope you enjoy this episode of nineteen-eighty-four written by George Orwell, or Eric Arthur Blair - whatever you prefer I guess.

______________________________ Little personal message

I have been finding recording this audiobook series quite interesting! My process of editing with Davinci has honestly transformed recently, and I have slowly begun to be more productive. A video which would only take me so long - now is much shorter! Granted, this chapter of nineteen-eighty-four did take a significant amount of time to edit (close to an evening), but I feel like my editing skills are slowly becoming more refined!

I am continuing doing this series despite low engagement for a few reasons;
1. it is the cornerstone of my channel. I based the channel on the idea of bringing education and audiobooks.
2. It is a passion of mine. Regardless of the reception, this is something I have a vested interest in creating and helping people with. Even if there is only a small subsection of my audience who are interested ~ to bring education to that amount of people really does make me happy.
3. I enjoy reading 1984! George Orwell is a super interesting author, and reading his thoughts on governance and power is fascinating.

I am sure I am going to continue to create this type of tingly ASMR video in the future! Though, I do have many other interests in other areas of ASMR as well. So - I plan to expand. I hope that all of the new content is not distracting or annoying, but interesting!

___________________ Thoughts on the chapter

This specific chapter of nineteen-eighty-four actually took a significant while to record. You may see that the video is an hour-long, but the recording session was much longer! There is so much that happens in this chapter, and so many things which I truly find super interesting.
I really very much find the notion that life is 'a constant battle against yourself' - as Winston claims something along those lines. His idea that life is always striving against something physical lends me to consider his paradigm. Is it possible that because his base needs are not fulfilled that he considered the struggle of life to be merely about those aches and pains which come and go? - Or does he have a point? Is Winston a profound prophet or an old man with aches and pains and cannot see life for its other variables.

The old man in the antique shop also interested me. A walking tomb of a time long past. I truly think that Mr Charington is much more of an antique than anything in his store - and more valuable too. Mr Charington seems to hold onto some older notions about beauty, and worth - which are not common anymore.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, unlike the jewel in the rough of the antique store, we are also given junk for juxtaposition. The old man whom Winston meets at the pub is a perfect example of this. Sometimes mementoes of the past are so befuddled that they do not reflect important aspects of the past. Only proof that it happened, not evidence for WHAT it was.

Hope you can relax and sleep well. Love you all.

Nineteen Eighty-Four is public domain in Australia. This video is intended as a public service, to educate and entertain. To provide a relaxing and effective way of communicating one of the best works of literature to a target audience (being the ASMR audience).
I have decided to put a little more production value into this series. The first series I did on my channel was of Animal Farm, and to honour this tradition I thought it right to increase my efforts. #1984 is a classic, it is mentioned all throughout culture. #Orwellian is a popular description, basically describing a situation in real life which is negative in George Orwells eyes to having a good society - as depicted in his writings.

What does ASMR Mean?
Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR), sometimes auto sensory meridian response, is a tingling sensation that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. A pleasant form of paresthesia, it has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia and may overlap with frisson.

ASMR signifies the subjective experience of "low-grade euphoria" characterized by "a combination of positive feelings and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin". It is most commonly triggered by specific auditory or visual stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attention control. A genre of videos which intend to stimulate ASMR has emerged, of which over 13 million are published on YouTube
(Wikipedia, 2020).

Its basically a tingly and relaxed feeling you get, caused by certain cues we call in the community 'triggers'. #ASMR is a massive trend, its videos, its not a job (asmrtist :O) but originally it describes the feelings of #tingles.
