In this video I am going to explain how to tell if you child is suffering from depression. This is really important because it is estimated that 80,000 children in the UK alone are suffering from depression and 8,000 of those are under 12. Yet low mood in children is often dismissed as a passing phase or part of growing up. This may be because parent often don’t know what they would do if their child was depressed so in the next video I will help you with this too.
Depression is not a problem that will just go away on its own. So, pleased watch this video and keep an eye out for the signs and symptoms that I described and if you notice any, get help sooner rather than later.
Different children will experience a different combination of symptoms and symptoms may vary across days and settings, but if your child is exhibiting one of more of the signs or symptoms described it is possible that they are suffering from Depression.
I will also explain some of the risk factors for Depression in children.
