BEANFLAN FAMILY RECIPE:

1. Grease baking tray and line with shortcrust pastry and then prick it with a fork, then I pop it in oven on 180 for just 5 mins to let pastry cook a little (only a little, no browning to it and then take it out of oven)
2. Slice loads of white onion - 3 big ones, and sauté them off in pan til soft. More onions the better!
3. Peel and boil load of potatoes, when cool enough they get sliced. I put salt in the water.
4. Drain off 2 tins of chopped tomatoes so juice gone.
5. Then it’s just assembling it. Onions on top of pastry. Then 2 tins of baked beans on top of onions. Then arrange sliced potatoes on the beans. Then the chopped tomatoes . I like to put a bit of salt and herbs on the tomato layer. And then plenty grated cheese on the top (like a mature cheddar)
6. In oven then on 180 for about 30 mins until it looks done. Yum 😋
