🩺 Medical Treatment for Your BRAIN 🧠 Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation | ASMR Soft Spoken Medical RP

Brain stimulation therapy includes commonly known (but feared) ECT therapy, vagus nerve stimulation, & our topic today, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). In TMS, magnets are used to stimulate the brain with 'pulses' situated on an area of the brain related to the condition being treated. It's a "tap, tap, tapping" on your brain to help with diseases like treatment resistant depression, OCD, or migraines.

This video has more artistic liberties than I usually do to make it conducive to ASMR. The actual treatment is loud & the magnets are fast & repetitive so I wanted to make this something one could actually stomach listening to for a while. My "pulses" are soft metronome ticks at 80 BPM with a few different patterns & the "machine beeps" are much lower in pitch. This is fictional, I'm not a doctor, I'm just an actor on the Internet.

Attributions: I found an ASMR video from a real doctor named 'ASMR By the Real Doctor Rouge' filming both her treatment and talking about the process, risks, etc that served as my main inspo. That can be found here: (youtube.com/watch?v=OMWnVB8Sjns&t=1775s) My other big sources were from the Cleveland Clinic (my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/17827-transcranial-magnetic-stimulation-tms) and Healthline (healthline.com/health/tms-therapy).

❥ What Is ASMR? From Oxford Languages: "a feeling of well-being combined with a tingling sensation in the scalp and down the back of the neck, as experienced by some people in response to a specific gentle stimulus, often a particular sound. 'ASMR is triggered by things like whispering voices, paper tearing, and scalp massage.'"

❥ I want y'all to have a safe environment here regardless of where you come from, who you love, what you look like, you name it. I don't tolerate discrimination or hatred based on attributes you can't change like where you were born, what color you are, if you have a disability, or who you love– above all, be kind to one another. We're all just people, just trying to do our thing.

❥ About Me:
I'm Calliope, I'm a disabled, Hard of Hearing ASMRtist that got started in December 2016. I found ASMR back in 2011-ish when I was starting high school and it changed my life, so I wanted to create my own content and give back to the community. I'm known for my realistic medical RPs, as well as my pseudoscientific and historical RPs. ASMR is the most important thing in my life, and I hope to continue to make content for as long as possible.

Audio Recording – Rode NT1-A Microphones, 3Dio XLR Binaural Microphone, Blue Yeti Microphone, Roland CS-10EM Binaural Microphones
Filming – Lumix G85 Camera

⭐ Fun fact! From Healthline: "Information runs between neurons in your brain for everything we see, think, or do. These neurons move information at different speeds. The fastest speed for information to pass between neurons is about 250 mph." (https://www.healthline.com/health/fun-facts-about-the-brain)

❥ Have a whale of a day and a good rest of your night! :)
