I talked to Chris and he divided my residency payments into four parts ($5000 MXN = $300 USD per month) so I need $200 to start the residency process. We already raised $900 for the National Institute of Migration. As soon as we get the money, I'll start the legal process.

Please help me pay my lawyer! I need to be a citizen here in Mexico to continue with my degree in Communication Sciences and Techniques. I'm only a year away from graduating! I also need this to be able to open a bank account, get basic health services, get a job and what the country offers to support you.

Here's the story:

I visited Campeche, Mexico in December 2019 and met my ex. I was stuck there due to the pandemic since the border closed in March 2020. I was supposed to go back and I never knew when I would, so I decided to start studying at the university I'm at now later in September.

December arrived and the borders opened. I returned to Peru, my country of origin, to see my sister who was pregnant at the time. I studied online for four quarters (1 year and 4 months) and decided to return to Mexico, after multiple failed attempts to obtain a student visa and residence permit.

The reason why I was not able to get the student visa again at the Consul of Mexico in Peru is that I needed approximately a minimum of $10,000 US dollars, completely stable, in a savings account. I tried to save that outrageous amount with my mother, but we never reached that amount for three terms. Also, the currency exchange was absolutely crazy in 2021!

The protests were very close to my hometown in Lima, Peru, between 2021 and 2022. They were literally beginning to appear right in front of my building. I decided that it was not safe to live there, since the crime rates were increasing quite a bit. It was then that in May 2022 I arrived desperately looking for a way to move on. You can remember that I came to the abandoned house! It did not have very good lighting or basic water services!

Well, thanks to your support I was able to move to Mérida, Yucatán (even though my wallet with my Peruvian ID and one of my debit cards was stolen). First I arrived in a minibus and stayed in a rented place, now for real. Then I separated from my partner and moved in on my own in December 2022. Now this is a much safer and more pleasant place, but there is still something to do before I become very independent thanks to the freedom I will gain. with the rights that I need.

With this attorney I will be able to obtain my residency as an immigrant from the pandemic era. Here in Mérida, Yucatán, they accept foreigners quite easily, but at the moment, Mexico and Peru are having strong arguments and political disagreements. The Mexican president became persona non grata, and that's exactly what isn't supposed to happen for the sake of this.

I need to rush this and I will probably be meeting with Chris, my lawyer, in the next few hours. I can get money donated to PayPal and easily withdraw it from a money delivery app I have here called Rappi. This is amazing technology and its fees are not very high!

Thank you for reading! I'll be focusing on the livestream work for now.
