✨ Edwardian Hair Parlor, 1907 | Combing, Lightening, & Massaging Your Head 🌟 | ASMR Historical RP

We are going back to 1907 for a cozy evening at the Hair Parlor. We are going to bleach your hair with the finest Peroxide of Hydrogen, mix up and apply a nourishing hair tonic with bits of cotton wool, and massage your entire head. Back at the turn of the 20th century, there were many things that were simply Done Different, including hair lightening - here, we use a wooden toothbrush to comb through all the hair to apply the Peroxide. There also wasn't a gel-like conditioner, and instead hair tonic was used. Lots of bay rum and ammonia in all this, I cannot even imagine the smell LOL I imagine everyone left the hair parlor feeling like a million bucks from huffing ammonia the whole time.

All my research came from the Internet Archive's copy of Arthur Moler's "The Manual on Barbering, Hairdressing..." (it's a mouthful, full source below) from 1906, which was a GODSEND. Thank you, Mr. Moler, you're a real one. It was so detailed and made this video so much easier to make.
