1. The first major outbreak of syphilis occurred in 1494 and before
medicine it caused flash to fall of people faces and lead to death
within a few months. Basically whole parts of a persons body
could rot away from the disease making it common to see
someone with syphilis walking around like living dead
2.The dancing plague (or dance epidemic) of 1518 was a case of
dancing mania that occurred in the Holy Roman Empire in 1518.
Around 4000 people took to dancing for days without rest and,
over the period of about one month, some of those affected
collapsed or even died of heart attack, stroke, or exhaustion.
3.Rasputin, the man who manipulated the Russian Empire was
poisoned, shot and thrown in a river, he died from drowning , not
from the poisoning and the gunshot.
4.There was a period in Russia when people were cannibals.
During the poor economy and a very cold winter, people were
forced to eat dead people. They were even kidnapping kids from
streets to eat them.
5.From 16th to 18 th century many redheads were burned or
drowned , because it was believed they were witched. During the
Spanish Inquisition, it was believed that red hair was a result of
its wielder stealing fires from hell, and so many were branded as
witches and burned to death
6.Antoine Lavoisier , 18th cenutry French chemist, as a final
experiment , he tried to blink as long as possible after being
beheaded. Some sources say he countinued to blink for the next
30 seconds.
7. Aztecs used to preform human sacrifices to honor their gods
8. In the 19th cenutry there were safety coffins that allowed people
to call for help if buried alive, it was common back then to be
buried alive.
9. In order to prove their innocence, defendants had to put their
hand in the boiling water, if they would remain unharmed they
would be - innocent
10.Frankenstain author, Marry Shelly, kept her dead husband's
heart and carried it with her until her death in 1851.
