ASMR 👽 You're An Alien! Gently Examining You 🩺 | Sci-Fi / Alpha Centauri RP

Any fans of the very old PC game, Alpha Centauri? It was released in 1999 as essentially the sequel to the Civilization series. Yours truly is a big fan. I've been playing it for as long as I can remember (after I did the math, it's at least 18 years). I was ALWAYS Lady Deirdre of Gaia's Stepdaughters and I ALWAYS built a giant army of Mindworms, Isles of the Deep, and Locusts of Chiron to crush every other faction. I started playing it again this summer and I was drawn to making an RP, but I didn't know what I wanted to do until this point, just in time for Sp00ky Month.

I am RP-ing as Lindly, the native lifeform expert that will be examining you, the first friendly specimen of Mindworms. There's not a lot we know about the elusive Mindworms, so I've been tasked to examine you and take notes, as ordered by Lady Deirdre Skye. Mindworms have been noted to communicate telepathically, so while you can't tell me a lot, you can give me some information and help me while I'm trying to figure you out.

- “Why do you ask for a preferred name & address?” While I'm a cisgender woman, I'm very aware of my audience having members that don't use their 'legal' names (I'm one of them) and use specific pronouns, or are questioning their names and given pronouns. It's just common courtesy to make everyone more comfortable here. Even if it doesn't apply to you, it may apply to others and makes the world of difference.
- “Why do you ask for consent to touch (even if it's a given)?” Coooommon courtesy; big thing with me. I hate being touched by anyone I don't know, but being asked even if I know I'm going to have to anyway is much more comfortable than someone putting their paws on me without warning. Common courtesy.
- “Is your name really Calliope? How do you say it?” Yup. It's pronounced Ka-Lie-Oh-Pee, not Kal-Ee-Ope.
