For those of you who didn't know or weren't sure, I am bi! ✨🌈💕✌️💕✨😘✌️🌈✨ Although I've mentioned it before, recently I realized some of you might not know this about me, and I thought it was important to share. At some points in my life, I have appeared more queer (dating women, open relationships, etc), and at others, I have seemed straight (dating men, monogamous relationships, etc) -- but at all points, I have been bi. #BiVisibilityDay is September 23 but I figured we'd jump on in. Hope you enjoy ♥♥ M

misconception: bisexuality is inherently transphobic because it means "two genders"

bisexuality means attraction to the same and other genders -- so gender is still understood to be on a spectrum! if pansexuality is attraction to the full spectrum, bisexuality is attraction to two or more parts of said spectrum

misconception: bi girls are doing it for male attention

the fetishization of bisexuality is not the fault of bi people but of bigger societal structures at play. invalidating someone's sexuality based on the way others react to them is not fun or fair

misconception: bisexual people can't make up their mind

I am not confused but thank you for the concern 😘

misconception: bisexuals have "straight" or "passing" privilege

bisexual privilege does not exist; bisexual people experience a different kind of oppression than monosexual people do. bisexuality is often erased in straight environments and also -- in the same breath -- excluded from queer environments. over the years, I have heard biphobic comments from straight people and queer people alike

Thanks for being here! Much love to you all 🌈
