Oh sweet candle,
What careful nights you have lit
Flickering in shadowed puppetry
On walls of book-shelved silence
Words enough could never feed a flame
So sweet as you.

As you breath your last,
Take stars into your dark night
Take ours, into your after living dreams of
Candle light serene, and submerge
in cosmic dust your frail body.
Make a grave of ash so that your soul
May caste one last curse of love
One last wish, forgive the myriad you’ve
granted me, and you'll be one among your ancestry
Now next time that you are lit,
You’ll be one among the stars above
For now, beneath this ash submit 🕯️
