Reena's Podcast? 90 Day Fiance, Race Preference Is Harmful? Harmless? I'M EATING CHIPS.

So I wanted to do an asmr podcast and talk about some topics that I've been reading/ watching on the internet ... pertaining to race. I cut this short because of the construction outside and I was HANGRY!! I was curious about your opinions as well because it really does differ based on gender, race but overall individually ... so feel free to leave your thoughts on this and hopefully my cow chewing isn't too distracting lmao ... :P

Some extra points:
“Women should empower themselves and work hard to get out of poverty instead of relying on a man.” How do you know this person doesn’t work hard? Do you know what life is like in the Philippines? Circumstances are different even if you, yourself came from poverty and have overcome it. Not everyone has that “____’’ I don’t know the word, drive? mentality? to overcome poverty even though “The Secret” says differently. Do we all possess the POTENTIAL to overcome these obstacles in life, yes, but not everyone knows how to tap into that. Also, it’s not like the people who say “women should empower themselves” are actively working with organizations that help women in impoverished areas. It’s all just an ego boost. :P

Stereotypes DO DIFFER in gender. Asian males have almost absolutely no representation in the media. There are no Asian male hunks being paraded around in commercials and magazines. So I can understand how that can perpetuate the stereotype of Asian men not being desirable. But the truth is, there are positive representations of everyday Asian men everywhere!! Just not on the media as much as it should. I would like to hear more from an Asian male POV. :)

Of course, taking advantage of underage age and even young adults is morally wrong and disgusting!! So fetishization of a race is harmful in that sense. Human beings are not objects, yet we objectify people all the time in society.

But then again, ADULTS can do what they want with their own life. There are successful partnerships and marriages that occur from these type of relationships, as there are unsuccessful partnerships. So bottom line is, whether one fetishizes a race or not … why do I even care?!!! WHY DO YOU CAREEEEE IF IT DOESN’T AFFECT YOUR LIFE?

I care because I don’t like seeing young kids and young adult taken advantage of but I don’t actively work with organizations that prevent this from happening, but I do school the kids that I get to talk to when the topic arises. Maybe that’s my way of doing my part .. or maybe because it helps ME feel better about MYSELF ugh, my own ego.
