Aquariums Help Us - ASMR

Relax as I talk about the benefits of aquariums while showing you how my aquarium is looking these days. Aquariums have a remarkable ability to reduce stress in our daily lives, which helps us to live healthier. This video is in response to the many requests I’ve had to make an update video of my aquarium. Not much has changed. I have added a couple more live plants and have plans to add even more in the near future. All of the Platies have slowly passed on to the great pond in the sky. The lone surviving Platy shown in the video passed away a couple of days after making this video. The newest members of the community are four male Cobra guppies. In addition to the guppies, other residents of this 29 gallon aquarium are three Peppered Cory Catfish and three Otocinclus algae eaters. They all get along very well.

If you are thinking about getting an aquarium, it is essential that you do your homework ahead of time so that you have the best chance at success. There are many websites devoted to aquariums and are excellent places to learn. This hobby does not come without setbacks and a willingness to learn about fish keeping and a desire to keep the tank in tiptop shape are necessary to achieve success not only for yourself, but for the little fish that depend on you.

Information about my aquarium:
29 gallon Oceanic BioCube 29.
Although not a salt water setup, I still use the Bio Balls that came with the tank as a biological filtration system. In addition to the Bio balls, I use a standard BioCube cartridge filter as well as a filter pad between the cartridge filter and Bio balls and a sponge filter between the Bio balls and pump. I am also using an Ultraviolet Sterilizer to help kill free-floating algae, parasites and other harmful bacteria. The substrate is black sand with a scattered top layer of rounded gravel and is 2-1/2” to 3” deep. The tank has a heater though it seldom needs to turn on due to the water mysteriously maintaining a temperature of about 77 degrees Fahrenheit. The room temperature is always between 68 and 70, yet the tank stays at about 77 degrees. I read that a UV sterilizer will heat the water somewhat, so perhaps that explains the water temperature always being at about 77°?

The videos on my You Tube channel portray some of the typical day-to-day things that I do for relaxation, as well my never ending chores. This video was produced with relaxation in mind and hopefully has some ASMR qualities. Stress is harmful to your well-being and in today's fast-passed world, stress management is important, and so I hope this ASMR video in some way acts as a stress-reliever for those watching, as well as a sleep-aid for anyone having a difficult time going to sleep.

At the time this video was made public on You Tube, supporters of my work through Patreon had already had viewing access for many days. Consider becoming a patron of my work by visiting my Patreon page linked below and see how you can play an active role in the success and future of my channel.
