this morning I pulled a ladder from behind my old potting shed (not a ephemism) and proceeded to climb it, once positioned appropriately and safely, to tend to first floor problems. I had not anticipated that the ladder would have been used as a roosting spot for wood pigeons and therefore, delightfully coated in sticky poo goo...which, only became apparent once I had tottered bare foot up the rungs but one has to get dirty sometimes and that seems to be something most common to me when puddle jumping and trying not to slide off moss covered roofs.
