I want to be 100% honest about this video. Before the launch of this collection I did support J☆ to some degree. I watched some of his YouTube videos including the Shane Dawson series and followed his makeup brand. I'm not really into the drama that surrounds the beauty community (because there's A LOT and it gets annoying) so I didn't really know much about his scandals. Cancel Culture is really toxic sometimes and won't allow people to move on from their past so I usually ignore it unless its something huge.

I try my best to only support ethical makeup brands. I dont support any brands that test on animals at all. But I also don't have time to research every beauty community scandal.

So when this makeup collection launched, I was just excited to get a palette with all grey shades (my favorite) and didn't think much of it. After ordering, the Black Lives Matter movement picked up traction and of course I'm a supporter, especially since half my family, and my boyfriend, is black.

This movement brought a lot of things to light, one minor thing being J☆'s racist past. Although I believe people can change and learn to be better, I don't know him personally and have only seen his efforts to support BLM recently.
But after a few people spoke out about their experiences with J☆, I realized that maybe his support is for show.

That being said, I already spent my money on this palette and I'm not going to just throw it away. I do like this palette, regardless of J☆'s personal issues, and will continue to use it. However, I dont see myself continuing to purchase his cosmetics until I see proof that he has in fact changed as a person and can distance himself from his racist past.

I hope you can all still relax and enjoy this video anyway. Thank you🖤
