This client discovered my Hair ASMR on Instagram and traveled from Yangju to visit Jeonggain Hair. Her first appointment became a beautiful beginning of trust—a chance to understand her hair, explain my approach, and care for each section with attention.

Coarse texture does not always mean strong chemical resistance. Previously treated hair can feel rough while still needing a gentle approach. I assessed her roots, mid-lengths, and ends separately, adjusting the formulation, application order, and processing time according to each section’s condition and treatment history.

I sometimes describe formulation as seasoning food: hair I expect to need a “7” may respond to a “2.” These numbers are my way of illustrating relative intensity, not pH values or a mixing recipe. Appearance and touch provide clues, but study, strand tests, and detailed records help me make more informed decisions.

Where supported by the product system, I adjusted the formulation’s pH while also considering reducing strength, elasticity, and previous treatments. My aim was to achieve a smoother finish while treating the previously processed lengths with care.

Softening lays the foundation for straightening. During the flat iron stage shown here, temperature, contact time, tension, speed, and the number of passes all matter. These decisions must work together with appropriate chemical processing and correct neutralization.

💡 PRO TIP FOR HAIRSTYLISTS
Keep records of the products, mixing ratios, application order, processing times, strand-test responses, and follow-up results. Mixing ratios alone do not tell you the final pH. Use manufacturer-supported combinations and follow product instructions. Lower pH is not automatically better, and a strand test cannot guarantee the final result.
