How To Cope With Driving Test Nerves

In this video I am going to share 3 tips to help you to cope with driving test nerves.
The first thing to say is that a certain amount of nervousness before a test is helpful, it enables us to prepare and focus. It also improves our decision-making ability, response times and ultimately our performance. However, passed a particular point nerves turn into anxiety which start to undermine our performance by making us feel uncomfortable and lead to negative thoughts and poor responses.
To make sure that this doesn’t happen we have to learn to turn off our sympathetic nervous system, which is the part of our nervous system, that when overstimulated, leads to anxiety, and turn on our parasympathetic nervous system which helps us to feel calmer.
There are 3 main way to achieve this:
1. By changing the way that we are thinking about the test
2. By changing how we are breathing
3. By taking a conscious decision to slow down and approach things in a more measure way.
In the video I will show you step by step how to achieve these 3 things in order to ensure you give your best performance before your test and maximise your chances of passing.
Good luck
Thank you for watching, I hope it is helpful.
