Hey! Tonight I will be talking about how to calm an overactive mind, anxiety, and negative self-talk. Our brains are highly capable of performing tasks subconsciously, which makes us efficient but also allows our brains to wander in directions that might not be productive for our well-being. I will share a couple of simple breathing practices to become more aware of body and mind. This video introduces breathing techniques used for mindfulness meditation (or just call it metacognition if that makes it feel less cult-ish for you, haha). The point is to become aware and understanding of our thought processes. When we become more aware, we can step back from the overactive mind and see exactly what is happening. When we know what is happening, we know how to respond with an appropriate and healthy approach. I hope that you find this as helpful as I have.
