Medical, sci-fi, & the 'fixing you' genres intersect in this Illegal Experiment deep underground. Hearing tests, reading tests, and picture identification tests are plentiful, with some light triggers and little tools to determine if the neural implant you just received is working properly (spoilers, it isn't).
