For 7–8 years, this client has returned for a style she loves and can comfortably manage at home. This film follows the care behind her finished look, from the first application to the final reveal.

Today’s design brings together a smooth crown and soft, full waves through the lengths. Each section was approached with her hair’s condition, resistance and desired shape in mind.

My Own Formula Language

Every service begins with diagnosis.

New growth and previously treated lengths can respond differently, so my two-touch application uses separate formulas selected for each area. Product pH and processing strength are considered within manufacturer guidance; mixing ratios alone do not determine the final pH.

Years of study, observation and recorded experience have shaped my own formula language—always adapted to the person in my chair.

Pro Tip for Hairstylists

Rod selection follows both the desired curl and the characteristics of each section.

For this client, I used smaller rods through the more resistant back and nape, and larger rods around the delicate crown and face-framing areas. Heat processing was assessed by section rather than treated as one fixed setting for the entire head.

These choices are specific to her hair. Follow the product and equipment instructions, and assess the hair’s response throughout the service.

The finished style is only part of the story. Behind it are patient hands, thoughtful decisions and the wish to make everyday styling easier.
