Today, I’m sharing a closer look at a digital setting perm for a longtime client with fine bob-length hair. From the careful softening stage to winding, heat processing, and the final styling, every step contributes to the soft movement you see at the end.

Fine hair can look delicate while still showing resistance. Understanding that combination is an important part of my work. I assess the hair’s condition and response, then tailor the formula and processing time to prepare it for curling with care.

For this design, I used approximately two and a half turns around the rods to shape gentle C-to-S curves through the ends. Rod size, placement, and controlled heat work together to create movement that complements the bob.

A bob has its own quiet beauty. Clean lines give it structure; soft curves bring a different expression—warmth, lightness, and movement with every turn of the head.

The foundation begins during softening. The hair needs to be prepared for the intended shape, with careful attention to its strength and elasticity. Winding and heat control then help bring that design to life.
