How To Cut Down Your Drinking - Part 2

In first part of this video I showed you how to reduce your alcohol intake, in this video I am going to show you how to make those changes last.
The key is to work out why you need to drink the amount you have been drinking and then find a different way of dealing with that problem.
What we do (our behaviour), in this case drinking, is determined by how we feel and how we feel is determined by how we think about things. Alcohol numbs our thoughts and feelings so as you reduce the amount you are drinking you will find that you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings. So, take advantage of this and keep a diary of your feelings (e.g. anger, anxiety, sadness) rating their strength on a scale of 0-10. When you experience a feeling that you rate as more than a 5/10 write down what has happened that day or what has just happened (the event) and then your thoughts about it or the meaning that you have attached to it.
In this video I will show you what action you need to take once you have identified the thought in order to make sure you stay in control of your drinking.

If you have any questions then please post your comments below and I will do my best to help.
