Edit: Hey guys. I've contemplated whether or not I should post this video today. As a Canadian, As a woman, As a white person. I know I am privileged. I recognize my privilege in new ways every day. I know I do not understand what POC have felt. But I stand with you. Reading twitter, looking at Instagram stories, and watching the news over the past week, has made me emotional several times. I've never once been afraid of a police officer, even at times when I was disobeying the law, or disturbing the peace. I don't want my content to distract from the most important issue at hand. Black lives matter, and I will die on this hill. I will die on the hill fighting for equality, fighting for human rights, fighting against a broken system. I've witnessed several of the celebrities/influencers whom I love and look up to scream about this topic. I'm proud of them, and I want to follow suit as best I can. Again, as a white woman, who grew up in a small secluded town in the middle of the Canadian prairie, I find myself constantly still learning and unlearning when it comes to racism. I've always firmly believed in education, and that apart from suffering a head injury or something, no one can take your education away from you. Education is the most valuable thing you can have. I urge you all to educate yourself, and educate others. Below will be a few links to educational resources for both the United States and Canada. And lastly, I decided to post a video today, because although everything going on in the world is so so important, mental health is still just as important. Please look after yourself, now and always. It means more to me than y'all may ever know, how I can post a 20 minute video of me rambling about something to help people distress, find distraction, and sleep. This is and always will be a safe place. A place where diversity and inclusivity are the only standard. I love you all. Fuck racism.
