ASMR Whispered Poem Dedicated To My Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Intersex (LGBTI) Friends

Something I wrote off-the-cuff one day.

Why am I whispering? To induce ASMR or at the very least provide a moment of relaxation. For more information about ASMR please visit: http://www.asmr-research.org/

First I want to say that I absolutely HATE labels. We are people. We are brothers and sisters. We are one species, one race. We are not gay, straight, black, white, jock, geek, etc. etc ad-nauseam. However, with that said, unfortunately these are the times we live in where everything and everyone seems to have a label.

So until the day arrives when we are all truly united as one, when the word ignorance has no meaning, when there is no separatism, and even when that day comes, be proud of who you are, my friends, my brothers and sisters. Be yourself. Make no excuses nor apologies for who you are. Have no fear. Rise above. Live. In no way am I trying to diminish what it means to be proud to be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender. Hopefully you understand the point I'm trying to get across.

Peace, Love, Happiness and Respect.

- Paul

Words:

they laid back in the grass
watching the clouds float lazily by
daydreaming
they didn't speak
nothing need to be said
they were happy
they were content

not far off in the distance
they could hear a bird's beautiful lonesome song
it was a perfect day

gentle fingers glided through soft hair
electric tingles raced across bare skin

the clouds shifted again
changing shape
for a moment they thought they saw- but no, they didn't

the wind danced softly over them
a silken caress across their faces and arms
enticing them
but they remained steadfast

they closed their eyes
closed them as deep as they could
as they listened to the strong and steady beat of each others' hearts

they were one now
and that is all that mattered

they then noticed that the bird was no longer singing
and the clouds began to take on a darker tone
a storm was approaching

but that didn't matter
they had each other

they grasped each other's hand
pulling even closer
wanting to absorb each other
to be deep within the infinite depths of each other's souls
in a place so far away
where they would be safe and protected
but all they could manage was to hold each other just a little bit tighter than before
nestling head under chin
returning each other's warm and comforting embrace

and as the rain began to fall
mother reached out her slender green fingers
and gently caught each drop
one by one
sending it safely along its journey

they smiled
they didn't speak
the storm was here
and they would welcome it
together
for they knew it too would pass
and they would remain
