This is what I call use what you have available in the fridge! Even if you are missing ingredients, FURRGETABBOUTIT!!! You CAN'T go wrong with split pea soup!
Ingredients I had available:
* 2- 2 1/2 cups soaked yellow split peas (cost me 50 cents using half the bag)
* 1 medium celery stalk (a few cents)
* 1 scallion (a few cents)
* Italian seasonings ( a few cents)
* cracked black pepper
* 1 small hot pepper
* 3+ cups of water, adjust as you go
(of course if you have carrots, onions, garlic, peppers, veggie broth add those suckers in!)
