Yes, we do need to protect our energy, deflect, avoid, etc. However there is another piece to this which is not needing protection but remembering that just as we may feel affected by others, our surrounding, social media, etc we also HAVE an affect and can be the force to lend a balance, peace, joy, etc. to the field.
