From Bleached & Curly to Silky Straight ✨ | Customized Korean Hair Straightening | Rhea ASMR | Part 2✨ BLEACHED & CURLY → SMOOTH, SILKY STRAIGHT ✨

This transformation began with a question.

She had previously bleached her hair at another salon and wanted to straighten the entire length as well. Because of the different conditions throughout her hair, she was advised that a full straightening service would be difficult.

So when she came to my salon, I first took time to carefully assess the hair before deciding what could be done.

Her hair had a strong, resistant curl pattern, but the most important challenge was not simply the curl.

It was the history of the hair.

The roots, the previously colored area, and the bleached lengths were three very different zones.

Healthy new growth still had its natural strength and resistance.
The previously colored section required a different level of control.
And the bleached lengths had already gone through a chemical process, meaning their internal condition and response were naturally different from the healthier hair above.

So I could not treat the entire head as one uniform canvas.

Before straightening, I also worked carefully on the color transition using a three-touch bleaching and blending approach, creating a smoother connection between the different areas.

Then came the straightening.

For me, this is where careful hair assessment becomes especially important.

I divided the hair into three zones and adjusted the pH balance, formula strength, processing time, moisture, tension, and heat according to the condition of each section.

The strong curls at the healthier roots needed enough control to relax smoothly, while the bleached lengths required a much gentler approach.

During the ironing process, I also combined wet and dry techniques where appropriate, carefully controlling moisture, speed, tension, and heat rather than treating every strand the same way.

My goal was never simply to make the hair straight.

My goal was to create a smooth, natural connection from the healthy roots through the previously processed areas and into the lighter ends — while respecting what each section of hair could comfortably handle.

After 27 years behind the chair, I still study and continue refining my techniques.

Hair chemistry keeps reminding me that experience is important, but so is continuing to learn.

Seeing bleached hair become this smooth, soft, and silky while maintaining a beautiful flowing finish made me genuinely happy. ✨

And most importantly, my client was extremely happy with her transformation. ❤️

She also told me that in the future she would like to add a soft pink tone to the lighter sections, so that will be another beautiful chapter for her hair.

Every head of hair has a history.
Every section can respond differently.
And sometimes, the most beautiful result comes from respecting those differences rather than treating them all the same.

Thank you for trusting me with your hair. 🙏

✨ PROFESSIONAL TIP

With previously bleached hair, straightening should never be approached with one formula, one processing time, or one ironing technique for the entire length.

Careful assessment of elasticity, strength, previous chemical history, porosity, and the condition of each zone helps determine how the hair should be approached.

The technique should follow the hair — not the other way around.
