5 Minute Meditation For Kids

In this video I am going to share a quick and easy meditation for children. It lasts approximately 5 minutes.

Meditation has so many proven benefits both for our physical health and psychological health. It has also been shown to enhance our potential for success by improving our focus and attention, memory, creativity and ability to multi-task. So, it makes sense to give our children access to these benefits and hopefully at the same time, the enthusiasm to practice meditation throughout their lives.
Meditation is about training our minds to see the world as it is, not through the lens of our past experiences, which often distorts things and creates unnecessary distress and discomfort. Meditation is not the same as relaxation, although relaxation is often a secondary benefit. So, when your children do this exercise make sure they are sitting upright, either in a straight back chair or crossed legged on the floor, as to experience the benefits, they need to be fully awake and alert throughout.
