ASMR | Guided Meditation ♡ Self Compassion / Emotional Strength / Loving Kindness (whispered)

Hai family ♡♡♡

Tonight I wanted to share with you a special meditation called the "Metta Bhavana", which I first learnt about when I went on a Buddhist retreat a couple of years ago. This is something that has been a really helpful tool for me personally & has helped me to feel happier, more at peace & emotionally stronger in times when I've felt low. 🙏❤️

Metta Bhavana translates roughly to "cultivating loving kindness", and it helps to develop within us a sense of love, radiating out from us toward all beings (starting with ourselves & building up in 5 stages).

Tonight we are mainly going to focus on the first stage - which begins by trying to develop this sense of loving kindness toward ourselves, awareness and compassion toward our own experience.

We will start by relaxing & softening the body, smoothing out any tension we've accumulated throughout the day. Then we will bring our awareness to the centre of our chest (our heart centre), to check in with ourselves and how we're doing. Then we will wish ourselves well with the help of a few affirmations that we will think silently to ourselves. 🤗

In the full meditation there are usually 5 stages - it starts with yourself, then moves on to calling to mind a good friend, followed by a neutral person, then a person we dislike, until the last stage where it expands to all beings. In each stage we try to feel a sense of the person, notice our reactions, and then wish them well, trying to develop a sense of loving kindness toward them.

But tonight, as its the first time doing this on the channel, I thought it would help to take it slow - so we will focus mostly on the first stage and then toward the end I will also include briefly the stage of the good friend and the stage of imagining all beings. 🤗
