This is the 3rd video in this Therapy Course for Depression.
If you watched the last video you will have hopefully spent the week trying to treat yourself a little better. Depression is a complicated problem which therefore needs a comprehensive solution that is consistently applied, so don’t be discourage if you haven’t yet noticed any improvements in your mood. Just keep following the advice in these videos and changes will gradually start to happen.
In this video we are going to continue focusing on changing your behaviour as a way of improving your Depression. Specifically, we are going to look at boosting your Self Esteem (an antidote to Depression) by reintroducing activities that give you a sense of achievement. Regularly engaging in tasks that improve your sense of your self-worth and skilfulness has a positive impact on your mood, however, Depression steals motivation so in this video I will also show you how to tackle this common obstacle.
Remember to keep monitoring your mood at the end of everyday and if you have any questions or worries please contact support team at The British CBT & Counselling Service, they are trained and ready to help you.

I am the Lead Clinical Psychologist at The British CBT & Counselling Service and find that I am often the first person with whom my patients share significant and intimate thoughts and memories. I feel at ease being a therapist, I feel I can empathise with people’s distress and discomfort but don’t feel overwhelmed by it, I can understand their problem and know how to help, it has always just felt like what I should be doing.
