In this video I am going to share with you 6 tips to help you to cope with a miscarriage.
A miscarriage is a devasting experience. You have lost a baby and must grieve. This a process that you must go through and it will seem at times unbearable but this video will help you to survive the pain and reach a place where the unbearable is bearable.
Here is a brief outline of the techniques I will cover in the video:
1. Remember you and your partner are compatible and can conceive.
2. Understand your feelings, they are part of the process of coming to terms with losing your baby.
3. Direct your grief in a positive direction to give yourself a sense of purpose and wellbeing.
4. Focus your mind on the present and try and avoid predicting the future, especially negatively.
5. Trust your body, you are designed to have a baby and you will, just not necessarily on your time scale.
6. There is nothing wrong with you, maybe you are actually ‘super fertile’

I am the Lead Clinical Psychologist at The British CBT & Counselling Service and find that I am often the first person with whom my patients share significant and intimate thoughts and memories. I feel at ease being a therapist, I feel I can empathise with people’s distress and discomfort but don’t feel overwhelmed by it, I can understand their problem and know how to help, it has always just felt like what I should be doing.
